Our Process
Hardware & Stitching
Hardware finish, stitch count, and stamping are examined against verified reference examples from the same house and era. Inconsistencies are disclosed, not glossed over.
Date Codes
Interior date codes and stamps are cross-checked against the maker’s production timeline. Where a code is missing, worn, or inconclusive, we say so plainly in the listing.
Condition
Corner wear, handle darkening, interior staining, and any repairs are documented in full. Box and dust bag, if included, are noted as part of the lot.
For Sellers
We accept handbags from Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and other recognized houses. Every piece is examined by hand before any commitment is made. Free preliminary review. No upfront fees.
FAQ
We currently focus on Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton, the three most consistently traded houses in the secondary handbag market. Other recognized makers may be considered on a case-by-case basis; contact us with photographs before submitting.
Each piece is examined by hand: hardware finish, stitching, stamping, and interior date codes are checked against verified reference examples. We do not rely on box or paperwork alone — authentication is based on the bag itself.
It can still be submitted for review. Box, dust bag, and paperwork are noted in the listing when present, but their absence does not disqualify a piece, authentication is based on physical examination of the bag itself.
HeritageBids charges a flat 15% buyer’s premium on the hammer price, with no online surcharges or processing fees.
